Boost Reach, Sales & Visibility with Video
8/10/20252 min read

Back in 2019, I wasn’t thinking about “marketing funnels” or “brand awareness.”
I was in sales. Pure sales.
My KPI? Close. The. Deal.
And I worked hard at it — calls, follow-ups, long email threads.
But the replies I got… still haunt me.
> “Never heard of your brand.”
> “Let me check your website and get back to you.”
> “Can you send me some details?”
That’s when it hit me.
People don’t buy what they don’t see.
It didn’t matter how good the product was.
If no one knew about us, we were invisible.
One day, almost by accident, I created a 30-second product video.
No fancy production. Just my boss explaining what we do.
Posted it online.
And then…
Boom.
Leads in the DMs.
People saying, “Hey, price please ......”
Calls where I didn’t have to explain from scratch.
That was my lightbulb moment.
Static posts are dead.
Video is alive. Video rolls. 🎬🔥
How to Use Video to Actually Sell More
If you’re still relying on long posts and text-heavy emails, here’s what worked for me:
1. Tell a Story, Don’t Just Sell
Nobody remembers an ad.
Everyone remembers a story.
Nike’s You Can’t Stop Us campaign didn’t sell shoes.
It sold resilience.
Airbnb’s travel videos don’t sell rooms.
They sell belonging.
- Show the problem you solve.
- Make it relatable.
- Keep it short — attention spans are goldfish-level now.
2. Go Short-Form (Because Nobody Reads)
You’ve got 3 seconds before they scroll away.
Reels. TikToks. YouTube Shorts.
That’s where the attention is.
Red Bull doesn’t post essays.
They post 15 seconds of pure adrenaline.
And people can’t stop watching.
3. Go Vertical (Your Audience is on Mobile)
More than half of your viewers are on their phone.
Vertical video = full screen.
Subtitles = they can watch on mute.
A thumbnail that screams “click me” = more views.
Starbucks nails this.
Their TikToks are short, vertical, and snackable.
No wonder they blow up.
4. Use Video Testimonials (Trust in 30 Seconds)
Would you believe a brand’s ad…
or a real customer sharing their experience?
Airbnb figured this out.
Real stories. Real faces. Real trust.
Ask happy clients for 30-second videos.
Pin them to your socials.
Watch your leads multiply.
5. Make SEO Your Wingman
If your video isn’t optimised, it’s just sitting there collecting digital dust.
Use keywords.
No more hashtags.
Include captions.
Focus on content quality.
HubSpot ranks #1 on YouTube for a reason.
It’s not luck. It’s SEO.
What Kinds of Videos Work Best?
Explainers — Make the complex simple. (Dropbox did it and exploded in signups.)
Behind-the-Scenes — Show the human side. (Starbucks uses this to connect.)
Product Demos — Show, don’t tell. (Dyson demos are oddly hypnotic.)
Live Streams — Engage in real time. (Amazon Live drives conversions like crazy.)
Animations — If you hate the camera, let visuals do the talking. (Slack nailed this.)
Here’s the thing: your first video will suck. Your 10th will be better. Your 100th will start printing leads.
The only mistake? Not starting.
